Anne Grier is an HMRC regional learning coordinator (RLC) in London & SE who has been involved in union learning roles for more than a decade.

Maz Gaskell is a rep in the Disclosure and Barring Service, in Liverpool, where she works evening shifts to fit around childcare for her young children.

Angela Grant, DWP assistant group secretary and NEC representative on the PCS National Women’s Forum, shares her experiences of living with the pressures caused by low pay – exacerbated for many during the Covid pandemic – and calls on the union’s women to use their organising and campaigning skills to lead the charge on pay.

Gemma Criddle is branch secretary at PCS Bristol and Reading Revenue and Custom. Like many activists, she has spent the last year juggling working from home, home-schooling, and personal health concerns, while continuing to represent members and help keep the branch running under testing circumstances. She explained about spinning plates, having wobbles and reminding herself why she does it all.
