LGBT+
PCS believes in challenging all forms of hate, prejudice and discrimination and also works with other organisations as part of our campaigning to achieve LGBT+ equality.
PCS Proud represents members who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or other non-heterosexual sexual orientations or whose gender identity differs from that as assigned to them at birth. Any member who self-identifies as LGBT+ can join and get involved.
Proud seeks to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and support LGBT+ members within the workplace, across the civil service and related areas, local communities and beyond. We attend many local Pride events and can help you organise a PCS presence at your nearest one.
Each year Proud members elect a national committee that oversees the work of Proud and work with PCS’s national executive committee to represent the views of LGBT+ members.
This year's Proud national committee is:
- Chair - Saorsa Tweedale
- Secretary - Liat Norris
- Organiser (Campaign & Communications) - Yemisi Ilesanmi
- Organiser (Membership & Admin) - Jordan David
- Treasurer - Nic Jeffreys
- Women’s Rep - Rose Baker
- Trans Rep - Finn Weldin
- Disability Rep - Heledd Muir-McCann
You don't have to be nominated to get involved. If you would like more information about Proud, including how to join, please email proud@pcs.org.uk
