Results of latest PCS ballots announced
All 4 of the areas balloted in the latest PCS industrial action ballots have returned yes votes for action as part of our national campaign on pay, pensions, changes to the Civil Service Compensation Scheme and jobs.
Members at the Home Office in Northern Ireland, Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Northern Ireland, Heritage Lottery Fund in Northern Ireland and the British Library in London, were asked to join our civil service strike action in a postal ballot.
The results in the ballots, which closed at noon today (17 March), were as follows:
- Home Office Northern Ireland – 92.19% in favour of strike action on a 53.11% turnout
- MCA in Northern Ireland – 90% in favour of strike action on a 41.67% turnout
- Heritage Lottery Fund Northern Ireland – 100% in favour of strike action on an 83.33% turnout.
- British Library in London – 88.30% in favour of strike action on a 70.20% turnout.

The members in these areas are now able to take strike in support of our national campaign and join strategic industrial action when it is called where they work and also national action with other unions. They join more than 130,000 members who are already eligible to strike.
